Colonial Day...
In 4th grade, one of the fun things the kids get to participate in is Colonial Day. Each of the children dress up, as they would in colonial times, they learn a colonial dance (and they get to dance with a boy for the FIRST time LOL), they also have colonial activities they can participate in. There's actually 8 different activities, and the kids got to choose the 4 they were most interested in learning.
Aubrey chose, games, making corn husk dolls, needle point and making yummy smelly stuff. She had the best time, though she was "worried" about dancing with a boy, but in the end she had fun - and honestly I think they did too. I love how this year the teacher's are REALLY incorporating fun activities into the school year, the kids got to envelop themselves into what it would have been like to be living in colonial times. It's neat!
